So, if you haven't heard, DC Comics just announced that in a few months, after their latest big crossover nonsense, everything is being started over. 52 new number 1 issues. So we figure if that's what the big guys believe is good practice, then we should follow suit. So next week we're going to dump the story we've been telling for a year and a half and go back to Alex and Walter meeting at the spaceport for the first time. Only hipper, more modern, like the kids like.
Sound stupid? Sound mean and unfair to our loyal readers? Yeah, kinda my reaction. I may not be a big reader of superhero comics, but there were actually a few things I'd recently enjoyed and bought a couple trades. Now I've started reading a story, and suddenly it's going to just be dumped. And as much as that sucks as a reader, think about how it feels to be the creatives behind all those stories. I was talking with a writer at TCAF, (I'll leave his name out in case he'd rather I not get him in dutch) who expressed his frustration working on mainstream comics, only to have the story he'd been working on derailed or dumped because of some corporate crossover or some such.
So no, we won't be dumping the Mississauga Jay story next week, but we are looking at making the old small press black and white stories available online. There's some work to do to make that happen, but we've come around to the idea.

Ha! Well Walter does play an instrument, but it’s not guitar. And even if he did, he’d likely be pretty far from playing like page. But yeah, there’s a certain 70’s British hit about his current look. He seems to have a thing for vests. Happily, not the sweater variety.
