Good news everyone! Dressed For Success returns Wednesday, August 31st!
Hello everyone. I need to take a moment away from furry aliens in robotic armour falling into pools for an important announcement about Dressed For Success. Due to personal issues, we are sadly going to have to take a short break. We're not certain for how long, a few weeks maybe.
Jeff and I have been extremely proud of our perfect posting record, delivering the next page every Wednesday since we started. And a quick check says that's 90 pages. At one point, we might even have been able to whether this uninterrupted, but it's been sort of cumulative and now we're going to have to do the dreaded hiatus.
So what happens? Well, we will be back first and foremost. To keep up to date, make sure you do things like follow us on Twitter, Facebook etc. We'll announce things that way as soon as we have an idea of when the current story will continue.
In the meantime, we didn't want to go completely dark, and we've had a think about what we could do in the interim. Guest strips really don't work in a long ongoing story. We don't want a repeat of April Fools day, so there won't be a guest artist. We could just run filler like sketches etc, but that doesn't seem right either. But there is a way we can continue to share Alex and Walter's adventures. It's something we've been thinking of doing anyway, so it's just getting pushed up.
Starting Monday July 25, we will be publishing the original Dressed For Success comics from the 90's online. We've had some people ask about it,and we've gone back and forth, but now seems a good time and we hope you will accept this as a positive move, not only during our interruption on the new story, but also an opportunity to read Alex and Walter's first exploits.
You'll find what we've dubbed Dressed For Success Retro over on the Smackjeeves comic hosting site. We've gone this route partially because it was a quick way of making the material available without a severe overhaul of this site, but also a means to hopefully expose more people to Dressed For Success, both Retro and New. Come Monday you'll find us at http://dressedforsuccess.smackjeeves.com/
There will be a link from there to here and here to there. The current plan is to run the Retro stories daily, Monday to Friday until the new story returns. then we will re-asses the schedule.
I hope you will enjoy these classic stories, and hang in there, we will be back.
OH YEAH!
With all the big news, I forgot the gag of this page. So the Yup-Yup's are a Mash-up of the Martians from Sesame Street and the Sontarans from Doctor Who, as mentioned waaaay back here. When we were creating them, I recounted and shared with Jeff a funny moment in the Sontaran history, a semi blooper that was left in. When we came to this scene, I all but insisted we do a take on it. I give you, Sontaran poolside tumble.
I love the little scoot he does at the end, so he can hit his mark.

Wow–didn’t know there were older strips! Looking forward to it. Just one suggestion–for those who don’t always check the commnts for what’s going on, make your change in status as obvious as possible, please. Like many people, I read a lot of toons and my time is limited, so I don’t always know what’s going on for awhile when there is a hiatus. Your toon is great and I really appreciate your regular schedule, that’s a plus in whether I read something or not.

Yeah, we hated to have to do it, we’d had 90 pages with no hiccups, but life happens. But we will be back shortly, likely a couple weeks. And we hope in the mean time you can enjoy Alex and Walter’s original adventures over at DFS Retro. There’s other changes coming as well, a revised store, the re-jigger of the website and with it, some sections that have become lost or abandoned. When we know the exact date of our return, we’ll notify here and on Facebook, Twitter etc.
