One of my favourite abilities of the Doctor has always been his way of blowing past people's defenses with quick talk and sheer bewilderment. Here Philip lifts Heather's phone from our erstwhile beachcombers effortlessly, and nothing gets said, much like how he steamrolled the mayor on the last page.
And it's the return of the 3D-VV! First seen in Philip's first appearance in issue 13 of the mini-comic. It's his sonic screwdriver, a flexible tool that's been a collapsing screen and now a scanner. Points if you get the reference in the name. And kudos to Philip's facesake for the name originally.
