Philip is seen jumping out of the lifeguard seat and onto the beach with excitement.

PHILIP:

Before anyone starts complaining about sand in their shoes.

Why don’t we just get to the point? Shall we?

Panel 2:

[pointing to Casey and Goobie-Doo]

When we first arrived, your clever companion there had found an ‘interesting stick’.

Which was actually a surveying tool used to take soil samples and such.

Panel 3:

PHILIP:

[pointing to Heather]

This young lady and her phone’s photograph gave us the creature.

Panel 4:

PHILIP:

The complaints of strange lights and smells on the beach told us where to look, and the communication problems pointed to the tower above the bluffs here.

Panel 5:

PHILIP:

And your mayor has been trying to distract and deflect anyone from digging deeper.

Panel 6:

PHILIP:

Someone has been surveying the area, stirring up the seabed and has hacked into your communications array.

When you get down to it, Doctor Who and Scooby Doo really are quite similar.

Especially the 'Monster of the Week' type episodes of Who.

And the finale is pretty much like this, The Doctor, or Velma and Fred, describe the clues they've found and their significance. It's the detective in a mystery leading up to the reveal. And here we have Philip in the role, but extra fun is he's framed with the Fred and Velma characters in the later panels. Explaining to the normal explainers.

And with Scooby Doo stories, you know what comes next...
